Pahrump Disability Outreach Program "PDOP" is program dedicated to:
*Any person who is a child affected by a disability and his/her family.
*Any person who is an adult affected by a disability and had the disability as a child and his/her family.
Pahrump Disability Outreach Program is a multi-faced support group. We provide support to the parents, sibllings, and other family members, of children with any disability. We welcome membership from anyone who supports this organization and what it stands for.
Pahrump Disability Outreach Program is a growing, non-profit organization that will provide families within our community a place to go for support, information, education, training, and friendship without having to go to Las Vegas.
P.D.O.P. or Pahrump Disability Outreach Program is a small non-profit organization dedicated to the support of children with disabilities and their families. P.D.O.P. also concentrates on education of the community regarding disabilities.
P.D.O.P. was founded by two parents who have disabled children. It wasn’t long after their children were diagnosed with a disability that these two parents found out that there was no local support for them here in Pahrump. There were no groups for parents or family members. There was limited information in the community regarding the disabilities.
Both of these parents vowed to make a difference for their own families, and for all the other families living in Pahrump that have children with a disability.
They established P.D.O.P. and it has become so much already, and the hope and dream is for it to become so much more.
The slogan, “Reaching for the stars, and settling for nothing less” has become the center of this organization and it’s goals and dreams for those in the community.
Pahrump Disability Outreach Program has numerous projects going on at any given time that require funding. All donations and fundraising efforts go towards these causes and towards the special needs children in Pahrump.
All of our staff are volunteers and accept no compensation for their countless hours dedicated to this organization. We believe in the cause that we are participating in and as a result refuse compensation.
Donations provided support monthly social events for P.D.O.P. as well as training opportunities for families and our community event P.D.O.P. Pumpkin Days.
If you have any questions regarding your donations please contact us through this site so we may answers those questions more specifically.
We do provide monthly social activities where special needs children and their families can come and interact with peers with similar limitations. This is a time where families and children who are routinely overwhelmed by routine social activities can participate and enjoy the benefits without the stress of such. Your donations make this possible.
