We want to be clear about what PDOP can and cannot tell you.
Information, not advice
Everything on this website, in our printed material, and in conversations with our staff, volunteers, and website assistant is general information and peer support. It is not medical advice, legal advice, mental health treatment, financial advice, or a formal educational evaluation. It cannot account for the specifics of your situation.
Talk to the right professional
- Medical questions belong with your doctor or your child's treating provider.
- Legal questions belong with a licensed Nevada attorney.
- Benefits and eligibility decisions belong with the agency administering the program.
- School and IEP matters: we can point you in the right direction, and the advocacy work itself happens at advocateiep.com.
In an emergency
If someone is in danger or in a medical crisis, call 911. For a mental health or suicide crisis, call or text 988. PDOP is not a crisis service and our phone is not monitored around the clock.
Our website assistant
Jane, the assistant on this site, is an automated tool. She can be wrong. She will not give medical, legal, or IEP advice, and she will hand you to a person when a question needs one. Verify anything important with our staff at (702) 516-0847.
Resources and outside links
Our resource library lists agencies, providers, and programs in Nye County and Nevada as a convenience. Listing is not an endorsement, we do not verify credentials or quality, and details change without notice. Please confirm current information directly with the organization.
